For Samantha, one of the most rewarding parts of her role is seeing the positive difference that the centres can make in such a short space of time. She recently spoke about some of the new clients who have joined the service and how their confidence can grow within just a couple of weeks.
“When they first arrive they are nervous and don’t want the carer to leave, within a short time they are so happy to walk through the doors, sometimes they are the last to leave as they are having so much fun.”

The impact of this support is also reflected in feedback from families. One family member recently shared how much they “value the service, saying they would not know what they would do without the Birmingham Irish Association Dementia Centre and that the staff make each day so much fun”. They also highlighted the confidence and reassurance they feel when leaving their loved one with our team.
