Birmingham Irish • August 29, 2024

Over the next few months, we will be giving you all an insight into our wonderful team of volunteers here at Birmingham Irish Association - without these amazing individuals it would be impossible for staff to provide our daily services.

MEET OUR VOLUNTEER: Carmel Boyle

“I had two losses in the family and felt I had lost myself; my daughter saw the advert on Facebook for a volunteer at Maryvale and thought I would benefit from volunteering. From the moment I walked through the door I knew it was right for me.

"I get so much out of being a volunteer and I feel it’s helped me as much as I help as I help everyone.” – Carmel Boyle

'Carmel volunteers twice a week at the centre and is a great asset, and her willingness to give her time to everyone at the centre is greatly appreciated. She is reliable and always willing to help, and everyone has a fun when she is around them. Carmel, you are brilliant and thank you for putting a smile on everyone’s face each week.' – Sharon Toy (Dementia care support worker)
