BIA Health Day Event 2024

Birmingham Irish • August 29, 2024

On 23rd July, the Tuesday Club and BIA Health Enablement Team hosted a Health and Wellbeing event held at St Anne’s.

Representatives from some of the agencies we work alongside to support our community were in attendance: Age UK, Forward Carer’s, Admiral Nurses, ICAP, the Alzheimer’s Society and West Midlands Fire Service.

They were kept very busy all day chatting to the over 70 attendees, providing valuable information about the services and support they offer. It was great for BIA staff to put faces to names we’re working in partnership with, too. Also gave us lots more information about what’s out there to support our clients.

Liam Blackwood put on a boxing activity, which went down really well with members, who reported it a great stress buster they’d love to try again. Rosie Pocklington’s laughter yoga was great fun, with some of the visiting agencies joining in too!

All in all, it was a very successful event, with lots of positive feedback from all attendees. The agencies reported how impressed they were with the vibrancy and positive energy of the Club. One of them remarked, "Where else would you see so many older people so engaged on a Tuesday."
