BIA Staff visit to the Irish Embassy in London

Birmingham Irish • November 20, 2025

Last month Catherine, the Office Manager and Ravinder, our Activities & Wellbeing Worker for Birmingham Irish Association attended the Emigration Support Programme event at the Embassy of Ireland in London. Both staff members were pleased to have represented Birmingham Irish Association at this event.

Ravinder said; “As the Activities and & Wellbeing Coordinator I was able to network with many other Irish organisations around the country. It was a good opportunity to hear about all the wonderful things that are carried out as part of this programme, and Catherine and I were able to inform others how the Irish people in our community were being helped.”

This was the last time the building will be used for this event because the Embassy will be moving to a new location. Therefore, it was a special occasion being the last two staff members representing Birmingham Irish Association and all the work we do in that beautiful building. It was also a great opportunity to inform everyone about the launch of the Birmingham Irish Association’s new premises.

Other organisations who that carry out similar work got were also able to exchange ideas and stories of how the activities carried out have made a positive impact on the Irish community.

Catherine and Ravinder got to meet, and have some interesting conversations with Ambassador Fraser and Minister Richmond about all the work conducted at Birmingham Irish Association. They were thanked for all that we do and gave a special mention to Birmingham Irish Association and the Birmingham community for all the work that goes on here.
