Reopening our main services once again

Birmingham Irish • Jul 18, 2020

Over the last couple of weeks, the staff here at Birmingham Irish Association have been working very hard to make our Digbeth premises safe for the public to use once again. Therefore, we are incredibly excited to announce that our front office will reopen to you all on Monday 20th July 2020.

We will be helping with passport applications, foreign birth applications, certificate applications, financial advice and more. Our Irish food shop will also be open. We cannot wait to see you all again. An appointments system has been put in place, plus a first come, first serve for those who have booked prior, to ensure optimum safety for all. To book an appointment, please email ‘jennifer@birish.org.uk’ with your name, preferred time, and nature of your appointment, and a member of staff will contact you as soon as possible.
Soon to reopen with new measures put in place will be our incredibly popular Tuesday Club social groups on Tuesday 21st July. Our lovely members are so excited to return back to us and to a new normal.
We are also exploring fresh approaches into reopening our three dementia locations whilst providing ultimate safety for our wonderful clients. At St Anne’s in Digbeth, a small, safe session with four clients took place on Friday 17th July with shorter hours and packed lunches from home to ensure maximum safety. We are hoping that in the not so distant future, our Maryvale and St Dunston groups will also be able to follow suite.

Over the last few weeks, our popular computer classes have also reopened, and our lovely clients have learned how to email their loved ones and stay in touch.

We hope that in good time, the current situation surrounding COVID-19 will ease and we will see you all across our full services again soon. Until then, to keep us open, we do ask for your patience as we adjust to a new normal, to follow our guidelines of sanitising your hands before entering our building and waiting rooms, and to keep a distance of 2 metres away from others to ensure safety.
Thank you so much.
