Birmingham Irish Association 2025 Annual General Meeting

Birmingham Irish • October 21, 2025

On Monday, 29th September 2025, the Birmingham Irish Association proudly held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at St Anne’s Hall, welcoming board members, staff, volunteers, and members of the public for an evening of reflection, connection, and planning.

Chair Joan Downton opened the meeting by expressing thanks to everyone involved with the Association over the past year. Chief Executive Maurice Malone then presented the report on key activities and outcomes from 2024–2025, covering areas such as welfare support, cultural programming, community outreach and organisational developments.

Both Joan and Maurice paid tribute to the staff and volunteers whose dedication is central to the Association’s work in serving Birmingham’s Irish community.

St Anne’s Hall provided a welcoming setting for members and guests to engage, share ideas, and look ahead with optimism. The Birmingham Irish Association remains committed to promoting Irish culture, supporting community wellbeing, and nurturing inclusive connections throughout the city.
