Meet our volunteers – Introducing Chris Jennings

Birmingham Irish • December 11, 2023

Over the next few months, we will be giving you all an insight into our wonderful team of volunteers here at Birmingham Irish Association - without these amazing individuals it would be impossible for staff to provide our daily services.

Read Chris' Story Below…

MEET OUR VOLUNTEER: Chris Jennings

"BIA chose me! I came in on other business about 14 years ago and was invited to apply for office volunteer. I help out with all general aspects of the office. Being a volunteer is very good, but, volunteering for BIA feels like being back home in Ireland.

In the early days I met a lot of people from home, some I already knew.

I have previously helped out in the Dementia Centre too. My father lived with this so I was able to understand them."

'Chris has been here longer than me! She’s great with the public and our shop. Always happy and willing to help and gives us a fair few laughs too! She keeps us smiling’ - Catherine Kelly (Front Office Manager)
