Maryvale Dementia Centre Day Trip to Rhyl

Birmingham Irish • August 24, 2023

Sandwell Irish Society kindly invited some of our Maryvale members to attend a day trip to Rhyl last month. The weather was fantastic.

Read all about the brilliant day below:

  • We first went to St Winefrides well and chapel in Holywell. Where we all dipped our feet in the natural spring water it is meant to have healing properties. It was freezing but it felt very calming.
  • We then went onto Rhyl where we all had a stroll along the sea front, Carmel brought along her bucket and spade and built a sand castle in the sand and dipped her feet in the sea.
  • We had a pub lunch at a pub which was on the sea front and had the perfect view of the sea while we had our fish and chips and this went down a treat.
  • We then had a walk into the town and had a stroll around the gift shops.
  • To finish the day we all had ice cream in the sunshine before getting on the coach to go home.

We are so pleased that everyone had a lovely day and a special thank you to Sandwell Irish for thinking of us.
