An raibh tú ar saoire fós? Have you been on holiday yet?

Here are a few more countries to consider for your laethanta saoire:

  • An Spáinn – Spain
  • An Iodáil – Italy
  • Meiriceá – America
  • Na Stáit Aontaithe – The United States
  • An Astráil – Australia

Notice that a lot of countries take the definite article (the) in Irish, but not all of them!

And a little on accommodation:

  • Lóistín – accommodation
  • Leaba agus bricfeasta – bed and breakfast
  • Féinfhreastal – self-catering
  • brú óige – youth hostel
  • Óstán – hotel
  • Carbhán - caravan
  • Árasán – apartment
  • Pubal is a tent but camping is ag campáil

You may need a pas – passport

Cá bhfuil mo phas? - Where is my passport?

Ar bhain tú sult as? Did you enjoy it?

Bhí sé ar fheabhas – it was great

Bhí se róthe – it was too hot

Bain sult as – Enjoy!
